BACK TO SPORTS WITH BECYCLE
Everyone who’s been following our articles regularly knows that we already introduced BECYCLE to you earlier this year: a studio offering different classes including highlights like the ride in the dark, also known as spinning to the beat of techno music (click here for the article).
But besides this wonderful new concept of cycling classes, this place offers much more on their schedule. In the REFINE room you can participate in “Ride” classes such as yoga, barre, hiit, boxing or core yoga classes - just to mention some of them. As you can see, the range is quite big and that’s why we couldn’t stop thinking about the way they inspire us to get fit and calm our minds.
So we finally put ourselves together and tested their special „6 weeks challenge“-offer: Unlimited access to all of their classes for 6 weeks for €199. If you actually manage to come in 22 times or more (which is about 4 times a week), you get a refund of €99. This special one-time offer is what we went for. Pushed and motivated by the challenge and excited about the wider range of classes, we got on the bikes in the ride room and tried out almost everything else on the schedule.
HOW DID IT GO?
At first the challenge actually seemed doable, but after getting started in the first week our muscles burned and the motivation went down. But not low enough to give up: instead we focused on stretching and relaxing rather than on burning off energy on the bikes.
The rest is history: after the second week of training we couldn’t stop going. Almost every day we counted down the time until our classes started. The classes are super easy to book: after registering you can book every class online.
From week three on, the plan was to do at least two “Ride” classes, one yin yoga and one barre training per week. With this perfectly balanced schedule the six weeks flew by and blew our minds. The programme balanced body and soul and our urge of working out regularly had reached its all-time high. The awareness of how strong and content we felt and the urge to balance mind and body stayed until today.

WHAT MAKES BECYCLE SO SPECIAL?
At BECYCLE people come together to either push themselves to their limits or to relax and wind down from their busy lives. Beyond our signature RIDE and REFINE classes, our chicly furnished lounge allows for customers to linger before and after class while they enjoy healthy food and drinks from the connected plant-based organic cafe, My Goodness.

It’s the best way to dive right into BECYCLE, allowing you to try out all the classes we offer, get to know the instructors that teach them, and get addicted.. ;)
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS YOU GET AFTER A SIX WEEKS POWER TRAINING PLAN LIKE THAT?
After six weeks it's very possible to see a change not just in the way you look and feel, but also in your workout habits. For example, some customers have told us they never used to like working out in the early hours of the morning, but thanks to the challenge they have “upgraded” their routine.
WHICH COURSES AND TRAINING UNITS DO YOU RECOMMEND TO NEW AND PASSIONATE CUSTOMERS - ESPECIALLY DURING THEIR SIX WEEKS CHALLENGE?
I recommend trying out everything. Try the classes that you never thought you would like. It’s important to know, too, that you don't always need to get a sweat on every time you come to BECYCLE. You can also come just to relax. For instance, we offer yin yoga — a very slow, deep stretching, meditative yoga — and even meditation classes.
WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING THE WORKOUTS?
Listen to your body! Don't go too hard. Some regular customers that have been coming for a while now tend to push it hard, which I wouldn't recommend for a first-timer.
AFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING NEW PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?
As it’s our goal to bring this concept to more cities across Germany, we are working on opening our next location in Frankfurt. Opening a second studio in Berlin is something we’ve also considered for the near future.
Something we truly believe in is the collaboration with other boutique studios across the globe to work towards common goals. One of which would be lowering the barrier to working out. The other is just simply getting more people excited about working out in general. That’s why we’re already working together with studios in the UK and other parts of Germany and Europe to build up an instructor exchange programme. We believe that gaining fresh input from other methods of teaching is beneficial for community growth and success. Structuring that and making it an officially established programme is our next big project.
