Hairytales by MOROCCANOIL’s Maestros
They are ambassadors working in the name of the Hair and Styling brand Moroccanoil. Their backstage reputations put them among the most sought after Hair stylists. Antonio Corral Calero, Paul Hanlon, Bob Recine and James Pecis are creating today’s looks, from London to Paris, from Milan to New York. Labels like Costume National, Marchesa, Jason Wu and Temperley London count on the Maestros to conjure up the ultimate styles in their muses and models. The results are creations that makes waves far beyond the runways. They become the base of the most popular looks of the season. We took a closer look at these techniques and trends backstage and have compiled a list of our eight favourite cuts for this Fall/Winter season. Curtains up.
The inspiration | The look builds the main contrast to the stark fashion that was inspired by the classic film Metropolis from the 1920’s.
The look | A softly falling, natural side parting.
For that glossy sheen: Moroccanoil Treatment from € 45,–. Gently blowdry your hair, using your fingers to help your hair find its natural fall. Create a middle parting and apply the Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray for € 28,-. Afterwards, pull a broad strand from the inferior side of the parting and fold it over, creating a heavy side parting. To stabilise everything: spray on Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray starting at € 23,90.
The inspiration | The 90’s. A woman searching for romance, dancing through the night. This is what Jamie Pecis created Moroccanoil’s Hairdesign for.
The look | A perfectly messy pin-up style with loose strains emanating from a turned in, fastened ponytail.
The Style Basis: Moroccanoil Treatment, from € 45,–. Pull a cross parting from one ear to another and separate the two folds of hair. For the Wet-Look: Apply Moroccanoil Root Boost from the middle of the hair to the tips, from € 26,–. To add more volume and sleekness from the scalp to the middle of the hair: Moroccanoil Straightening Lotion, from € 34,-. Take the front part and turn it in to a high ponytail that you fastened to the top of the head. Do the same for the back half of the parting. To fix those loose strands: Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray from € 23,90.
The inspiration | Efficient tailoring and elegance are this year’s credo at Jason Wu, whereas the hairstyle was kept more youthful, nostalgic of the 1940’s.
The look | Nonchalant wavey sides
To structure the hair: Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse, from € 28,– For more texture when adding waves with the straightener: Moroccanoil Ceramic Hairstyling Iron. The inspiration | Both the fashion and the hair was inspired by the oil paintings of American artist John Singer Sargent Pate. The result is a mixture of aquarelle colours and victorian hairstyles – here’s our favourite.
The look | The Low Chignon
To prepare the hair: Moroccanoil Treatment, from € 45,– After splitting the hair with a middle parting it is straightened and prepared with the Moroccanoil Thickening Lotion. To brush and bind the low sitting ponytail: spray on Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray. Free a few strands around the face and let them hang loose. Take the rest in a ponytail and split it into two halves. Twist them and reapply Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray. Create loops with the two strands, twist them in again and fixate them. Cross the two turned in parts until they look like a Chignon. As a finisher: Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray from
