Clean eating & Juicing by DETOX DELIGHT
Everyone living in a metropolitan city knows the problem: there’s a place to be every single night. Meeting up with friends, followed by dinner and, obviously, drinks. Berlin is no different, life takes place outside: on the streets, in restaurants, bars and nightclubs. And hence, our minds drift inward too often. This is why I, Kate, have decided to attempt to change my lifestyle through a change in nutrition.
The newest craze and the one thing since Juicing, which I’ve had quite some experience with, that has truly captured my interest. Vegan and Organic are ubiquitous terms here in “B”. Yet it’s still pretty much impossible to avoid all additives, sweeteners or saturated fats in our daily diet. Which is why I wanted to try this new program. To give my body a break from the urban lifestyle, and also to find out if, aside from increased wellbeing, I could also attain the sought after “glow” effect on the skin. Before I get into the details I want to say one thing up front: it’s true. It’s not easy, but the result can become visible; my mirror image now more fresh, fitter and back in Balance.
DETOX DIARY DAY ONE
deliberately chose a hybrid form of the regimen for myself. I didn’t have a lot of free time in which to focus on it and wanted to be very efficient about it. Yet I would still recommend the longer regimen, as the sought after detox effect only becomes visible after three days.

Sounds delicious, and it was! Nonetheless, as a café lover I noticed the differences to my normal routine. I actually felt like I was eating more than usual. One big difference is doing without all those sugary drinks throughout the day. A bunch of hidden calories, for sure, but also a certain satisfaction and appetite stilling that you eschew. To sum up the day: I felt well, and ate deliciously. I just felt much more tired come evening, but I guess that’s what beauty sleep is for…
EAT CLEAN DELIGHT | DAY 2 MENU by DETOX DELIGHT
Chia Buckwheat Pudding with Mango, Coconut & Lemongrass for breakfast followed by a Juice Delight a Sunny Superfood Salad for Lunch a little bite during the afternoon consisting of a Juice Delight and a small snack followed by a delicious dinner, tonight a South Indian Dhal.
I can’t complain about being left hungry. However, I had a few appointments in the evening that were more difficult than usual to realise. I can only recommend spending the detox days in a bit of a hermit mode, not expecting to see or meet with too many people. Not because you don’t feel well, but everyone sitting with their champagne & Co. makes your mint tea suddenly seem horrible – and your mood as well. Better to snuggle in and get to bed early for once.
SUPER GREEN DELIGHT DETOX | JUICING ON DAY 3 by DETOX DELIGHT
For the third and last day of detox I decided to go for Juicing à la Super Green. Instead of each meal I will exclusively be drinking juices – with a reduced fruit content balanced out by even more green vegetables and vegan nut milks. Hunger is easily kept at bay here as well. Typical for day three though, is how your body noticeably switches into detox mode: weariness, fatigue and a lack of strength really hit me today. That energising “Detox-Wonderpower” was nowhere to be found. By 8 in the evening I had crawled back to the safety of my home and attempted to fall asleep. And sleep came very quickly.
After day three went less well than I wanted, day 4, the normal day, was that much more refreshing. Obviously I didn’t immediately drop my detox program to launch myself into a latte and slice of cake, I stood in the kitchen and prepared my food after my own tastes, following the preparation that I had gotten from the Detox Guide in the past three days. You receive the guide when you order the regimen, making sure that the transfer between diets happens gradually and not abruptly, confusing your body. Something I can only recommend following carefully! Work doesn’t disappear and neither do your social obligations. My recommendation is therefore as follows: Be well prepared, spend five full days detoxing, rather than just three, and expect to spend as many days readjusting afterward. Then you will really see, as well as feel, the difference: your complexion becomes vibrant, your skin feels more taut, and, seeing how you pay much more attention to what you consume, a few pounds are shed as well (yet usually not permanently, and definitely not the reason you should be trying the Detox-Program).

What does Clean Eating even mean? Basically, it means a sustainable change of eating habits, meant to cleanse the body and trim your figure, through reduction of excess consumption.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS
Consume only natural and fresh foods - No preservatives or flavour enhancers - No trans-fats, refined sugars or white flour products. - No diet or light products. - …no meals with long lists of ingredients (which usually spell trouble): - fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables are on the agenda - healthy, unsaturated fats (such as in avocados, olive oil and nuts) - six small meals a day - and make sure to pay attention to moderating the portions (no super-sizes!) - and if you don’t want to do it yourself, order the menus straight from Detox Delight: raw | cold-pressed | organic | vegan | gluten-free
